Whilst traveling around the South Island of New Zealand we drove through an area called Castle Hill and onward towards Arthurs Pass (It's around the middle section of the South Island, west and north a bit of Christchurch)
I'm stating the obvious, but it has to be said again, the landscape of The South Island is incredible! The dramatic flair is enhanced because large expanse of plains have not been irrigated and manufactured into farmland, unlike large parts of Europe. It can change dramatically in the space of an hours drive. In some areas you can literally go skiing in the morning, and surfing in the afternoon.
I plan to share some more photographs over the next few months, but for now here's a few pictures we captured just before rainfall.
